@jidapilates : It will be divided into 2 posting. please check the next one to complete. 🙏🏻❤️If you are a runner or or loves continuous walking for a long time, this is a must. Please swipe for more. People always stretch, stretch and over stretch. I’m not saying only for running or walking but also all kind of tightness from whatever sport. However there are 2 problems of stretching. 1. Stretching (esp. torturing stretching or overstretching) will make muscles lengthen without changing any structure of the muscles’ cell inside first and this creates muscle’s weakness. And yes RESULT➡️ you may feel better after a lot of stretching but they will be weak 2. The nervous system never like a sudden stretch and the myofascia (which actually is a nervous system) always need slow release and gliding between each connecting muscles and gliding between each layer of myofascia. Sudden stretching will cause a myofascia bounce back and even more stiff right after. RESULT➡️ you will feel pain after overloaded stretching but then feel better later but then the next day you may(or may not) feel worst or stiff. Therefore, be gentle on the stretching.. apply some gliding and try to use eccentric lengthening exercises to lengthening the muscles you need to. 😊 #jidapilates #thebalancepilates #stretchingforrunners #myofascialrelease
