@jjayda : Dear Class of 2020 - WE MADE IT. Certainly the way things have panned was not what any of us would have ever anticipated… but here we are - and we have to be so proud of all that we have accomplished. I recently spoke to a friend who told me, “it’s okay to be disappointed” - I’ve often felt a bit guilty feeling that way, given all of the lives COVID-19 has taken from us and the many businesses and lives it has drastically changed... but being disappointed is a human emotion and we must embrace it, but then of course, move on from it… this is where we all become stronger. As one of my best friends likes to lightheartedly say, “those are my thoughts and that’s how I feel” (I hope that resonates with whoever reads this). This rather anti-climatic end to our college (high school, middle school, do I have any elementary grads following me (??) lol) experience will never change the fun memories and life lessons we have learned. Despite the fact that it might seem like our class, Class of 2020, is forgotten, I think the script will always be, “Where is Class of 2020 now?” This should inspire us, motivate us, and give us the power to move forth this unfortunate bump in the road. Especially with what has recently reignited the ever so important BLACK LIVES MATTER movement, we must all unite and take a stance to establish, once and for all that lives will only matter when black lives matter… To all of my loved ones, thank you for your continual love and support throughout the past four years. To UCLA, thank you for giving me memories that will last a lifetime, giving me life long friends, and giving me yet another lens to view this beautiful life. 💛💙 #uclagrad (For those who may ask, I have no idea where I will be next - but my goal is to just be happy) XXxx Jay
