@marialynnehren : 4 years ago today…with 3 big questions, 2 degrees in hand, and 1 tiger mom not wanting me to do this…I decided to enter #MissUniverseThailand. Lol. #TB !! The questions were from one of my favorite books of all time, Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom: "Have you found someone to share your heart with? Are you giving to your community? Are you at peace with yourself?”. I wanted to share my heart with the world. I wanted to give back to the community I call home and more…but I was not yet at peace with myself. I did not yet understand who I was. At 25 what we Thai’s call the เบญจเพส year (year of bad luck and what may make you into the person you will become for the rest of yo life!!) I knew this was the year I needed to find this crucial piece. This didn’t happen by staying in my comfort zone, it started becoming clearer to me when I started exploring and getting a little lost (lost mentally, physically even, and spiritually. More on this another time). There is no real end to this post. I’m still alive and kickin’…moving up along this path of life and trying to be the best I can be; to love, to be responsible, to get in touch with my spirituality, and to be aware. It’s a constant path of learning, success and failure, but the most important thing is to just keep on putting one foot forward at a time and grabbing life by the friggin’ reins and let it take you on this journey we only get to experience once in this life form. So why did I apply that year? That was me grabbing my reins. Have you grabbed onto yours? Happy 4 years to all of my lovely fans, support, #MissUniverse team, friends and family.
