@kitb : I’m sitting here with the founding father of art in Thailand, Silpa Bhirasri (Corrado Feroci). He was invited to Thailand in 1923 to teach western sculpture at the fine arts department of the Ministry of Palace Affairs. In 1943, he founded what would become Silpakorn University, the university of fine arts in Thailand. He’s no longer with us, but his legacy and statue still remains here at @mocabangkok รูปปั้นที่ทุกคนเห็นที่ @mocabangkok คืออาจารย์ ศิลป์ พีระศรี ซึ่งเข้ามาประเทศไทยตั้งแต่สมัยรัชกาลที่ 6 เพื่อรับราชการ และได้วางรากฐานที่เข้มแข็งให้แก่วงการศิลปะไทย ทั้งยังเป็นผู้ก่อตั้งและอาจารย์สอนวิชาศิลปะที่โรงเรียนประณีตศิลปกรรม ซึ่งภายหลังได้รับการยกฐานะให้เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากรที่ทุกคนรู้จักในทุกวันนี้ #mocabangkok #art #artist #museum #contemporaryart 📸 @biatchboyyy
