Zoie, Snofer, Sissy, Jobi, our sweetest little girl - words cannot express how lucky we were to have you for fourteen and a half years. From eight weeks old, I knew you’d be my one and only sister and best friend I could have ever dreamed of. You made our family of two a perfect trifecta - you were the missing piece we needed. I’ll miss your soft fur, wet lil nose-y, feistiness, cuddles, and especially kissy sissy. As tears swell in my eyes thinking about you - I will remember you by running on the tennis courts and in the meadow, playing dress up, sending me off to school (from elementary - college) and your tiny little body rubbing about on pillows after a bath. I know the past year has been a rough one, but you conquered it with grace and beauty - showing all of us that size does NOT matter, resilience, strength, and courage are all within ❤️ And although we (Mum, Matt, and I) miss you dearly, we know you are now f r e e . Your body will be renewed and you can be reunited with your cousins (Sierra and Bella) and all the other puppas in Heaven too. I know in my heart we will all be together one day soon. Dear Class of 2020 - WE MADE IT. Certainly the way things have panned was not what any of us would have ever anticipated… but here we are - and we have to be so proud of all that we have accomplished. I recently spoke to a friend who told me, “it’s okay to be disappointed” - I’ve often felt a bit guilty feeling that way, given all of the lives COVID-19 has taken from us and the many businesses and lives it has drastically changed... but being disappointed is a human emotion and we must embrace it, but then of course, move on from it… this is where we all become stronger. As one of my best friends likes to lightheartedly say, “those are my thoughts and that’s how I feel” (I hope that resonates with whoever reads this). This rather anti-climatic end to our college (high school, middle school, do I have any elementary grads following me (??) lol) experience will never change the fun memories and life lessons we have learned. Despite the fact that it might seem like our class, Class of 2020, is forgotten, I think the script will always be, “Where is Class of 2020 now?” This should inspire us, motivate us, and give us the power to move forth this unfortunate bump in the road. Especially with what has recently reignited the ever so important BLACK LIVES MATTER movement, we must all unite and take a stance to establish, once and for all that lives will only matter when black lives matter… To all of my loved ones, thank you for your continual love and support throughout the past four years. To UCLA, thank you for giving me memories that will last a lifetime, giving me life long friends, and giving me yet another lens to view this beautiful life. 💛💙 #uclagrad (For those who may ask, I have no idea where I will be next - but my goal is to just be happy) XXxx Jay

Hi, I’m Jayda. A few months ago I met someone who I looked up to back in high school, and a few weeks ago, I got to shoot with him and be a part of a huge milestone in his career (#ytfb). Admittedly, I put this off for a solid couple of weeks - even though this had nothing to do about me - just because I didn’t think I looked good, was too fat, and so the list goes on. Did I look that way? Maybe. Was I at my worst? Maybe. But did I eventually go through with it? Yes, and I am so incredibly glad I did. Contrary to what I thought and what was going on in my head, there were so many lovely pictures captured that day... but my favorite part was the deep, life-motivating, storytelling type of conversation just between two pals trying to l i v e. As one of my dear friends recently reminded me, “if we wait until we are ready, we will be waiting the rest of our lives.” This resonated with me after feeling a personal absolute low since the beginning of this year. Gradually crawling myself out of a dark hole I have created for myself, I tried to get distracted - going to Europe, or even my recent trip to Thailand (again, the same daunting feelings of poor body image and self-talk clouded my mind, and whether or not those physical aspects were true or not... I still went. I got out there.) Andddd that is the point of this rant. We all need to keep moving, realizing not only are we not alone, but that we also need others for help too (no matter how stubborn we are *coughcoughme). Perhaps as for social media, I just want to be more transparent - show my odd, goofy self - and maybe that openness will be in it of itself a sort of self-healing, if you will. On that noteee, just thought I’d put something out there that I have personally been dealing with for quite some time. I truly hope that others find comfort in this too.
